ZZR 2022 Events.
Welcome to the ZZR and all we have to offer here. There is always a beautiful ride when you jump on the ZZR and enjoy the trip along the tracks. You will pass by homes, fields, and various other sights as you make your way from station to station. Its a lovely ride throughout the year and the special events are not to be missed. Autumn Season Change - 3rd of October -
Welcome to the wonders of the ZZR in autumn, as the trees turn from green to the kaleidoscope of yellows and reds as the leaves start to trickle down to the platforms and rails to bring a glow to the season. Listen to the wildlife as they prepare for winter, stopping only to hear the cheerful whistle of one of ZZR's heritage trains as they pass by. See if you can spot the staff as they hide in and about the railway trying to keep warm, peer over at Cyfnos works to see if they are brave enough to keep the workshop doors open as the chill settles in bringing with it those wonderful clear skies.

Spook Service - 17th of October to 1st of November -
Have you ever had that eerie feeling that something just isn't quite what it is supposed to be, like why do the trains only stop once at the tiny Ahndang station? Why are our trains suddenly colder, was the driver always that pale! Spooktacular season is upon us and the ZZR is no exception to the unusual goings on. Will you dare you get off at the smallest station on the line. Be brave and and see if the rumours are true, but remember we won't guarantee that your journey won't come to a sticky end!

Little Coverston - Bonfire Night Fireworks Display - 5th of November -
Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot… Come with us to celebrate the greatest act of treason that didn't quite happen. We will be at Little Coverston enjoying the late evening views and fireworks. Ride one of our Direct Services from all stations, sparklers and hot chocolate if you make the journey to celebrate with us, there may even be surprises in store.

Tracks to Trenches - 7th of November to 14th of November -
The ZZR will be running a tribute service for all of those who laid down their lives for us during World War One, many may not know about the importance of the railways during this time and the sacrifices engineers made for the war effort. The ZZR will change into a front line service in respect for all who served during this time. Ride the rails in the Troop Transport or join the munitions train making sure the troops were supplied. Take the time to reflect on and step back into history and the ultimate sacrifice many made for us.

Monty Remembered - 17th of November -
On this day a few years ago, The Zany Zen's pup of 13 years passed away at the age of 14. Monty maybe gone but he will forever be remembered, To mark this sad anniversary, Montgomery the locomotive that was named after the beloved pup will be running with a black ribbon in remembrance.

Winter Season Change - 5th of December -
Autumn has passed and it's time to find that flask and fill it with your seasonal hot drink, grab a blanket and a friends and make your way down to the railway. Enjoy the winter silence through the frosty glass of our first class carriage, give your friend a little cuddle as you see the winter scenery pass you by as you wave to the the robin hopping about it business.
Remember you never miss a thing if you travel by rail, make the ZZR part of your winter memories.

Santa Specials - 12th of December to 2nd of January 2023
Were you really good this year, I mean REALLY good? Why not pop down to the ZZR and ask our resident expert. Yes! Santa is back after his break and to help him get those lists ready for Christmas Eve he would love you see YOU!
Come and talk to him and see if you can get that wish you have been waiting for ALL year, also as he is an all round amazing person he has agreed to come back so you can say thank you. Just remember it's still winter so wrap up nice and warm and bring a carrot or three for the reindeer (and the random bunny if you're lucky enough to see her).
