Autumn Season Change - 1st October 2023
Explore the autumn beauty of ZZR as trees transform with vibrant hues, adorning platforms and rails with colourful leaves. Listen to the wildlife getting ready for winter, interrupted by the cheerful heritage train whistles. Keep an eye out for our staff taking shelter or peeking from railway spots. Spook Service - 23rd of October to 1st of November 2023
Have you ever experienced that spine-tingling, inexplicable feeling that the world around you has taken a surreal turn? Perhaps you've wondered why our trains make just one stop at the quaint Ahndang station, or why, all of a sudden, there's an unmistakable chill in the air, and you can't help but notice the driver's pallid complexion. Spooktacular season descends upon us, the ZZR is not immune to the extraordinary happenings of the season. Will you summon the courage to disembark at the smallest, most mysterious station along our line? do so with caution, for we cannot assure you that your journey won't lead to a spellbinding and unexpected conclusion!

Little Coverston - Bonfire Night Fireworks Display - 4th of November 2023
"Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason, and plot..." Join us as we commemorate the most infamous act of treason that never quite came to pass. We invite you to join us at Little Coverston for a spectacular evening filled with breathtaking views and a dazzling fireworks display. Hop aboard one of our Direct Services departing from all stations, and if you make the journey to celebrate with us, enjoy sparklers and indulge in a warm cup of hot chocolate. Who knows, there might even be some delightful surprises in store for those who join us on this memorable night.

Tracks to Trenches - 6th of November to 13th of November 2023
The ZZR is proud to announce a tribute service to honour the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for us during World War One. Often overlooked, the role of railways during this time was of utmost importance, and the sacrifices made by engineers and railway workers for the war effort should never be forgotten.
During this special tribute, the ZZR will transform into a front-line service, paying homage to all those who served during this critical period in history. You can choose to ride the rails in our Troop Transport, experiencing the journey as soldiers did, or join the munitions train responsible for supplying our troops on the front lines.
This is an opportunity to step back in time, to reflect upon the profound sacrifices made by many for the sake of our freedom and the world's future. Join us as we remember and honour the heroes of World War One.

Monty Remembered - 17th of November 2023
On this solemn anniversary, we remember a cherished member of The Zany Zen's family, a loyal pup who graced our lives for 13 wonderful years and passed away at the age of 14. Monty may no longer be with us, but his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
In honour of this beloved companion, we have a special tribute planned. Montgomery, the locomotive named after our dear Monty, will be in operation, adorned with a solemn black ribbon. This symbolic gesture serves as a touching remembrance of the joy and companionship he brought into our lives. Monty may be gone, but his spirit continues to guide us along the rails of our cherished journey.

Santa Specials - 11th of December to 2nd of January 2024
Have you been exceptionally good this year, going above and beyond in your kindness and generosity? If you can confidently answer "yes," then it's time to make your way to the ZZR and have a heartwarming chat with our resident expert himself. That's right, Santa Claus is back from his well-deserved break, and he's eager to see YOU!
Join Santa as he prepares those all-important lists for Christmas Eve. This is your golden opportunity to sit down and have a heart-to-heart with the man in red, sharing your deepest wishes and hopes for the holiday season.
